Mrs. Arkansas International®

Alexis Sims - 4th Runner-Up - Evening Gown Winner

1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
My marriage and my career. I cherish quality time with my husband. We make an effort to keep open communication and continually grow as a couple. Working with the American Heart Association is an honor. Being able to share my story and those of heart survivors is truly edifying.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
My mother. She is an accomplished business woman, who raised me as a single parent and volunteered in the community. On top of all that, she loyally served our country in the US Navy for 27 years, including a year in Afghanistan where she trained their military officers.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
Our home. My husband and I have spent the past three years remodeling our 1960s ranch style house (while living in it). All the weekends tearing walls down and rebuilding rooms together have created a lifetime of memories in a home where we are excited to raise our family.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
My husband calls me Princess (he also calls our dachshund, Sophie, Princess…). After winning Mrs. Arkansas International, my co-workers and even some of our volunteers affectionately call me “Mrs. Arkansas.” In college my sorority sisters called me Mom; I always had what they needed in my backpack!

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
I love the Fall in Arkansas! The landscape is covered in bright oranges and reds that are truly captivating, especially from the top of Mount Magazine. It’s a bonus that mine and my husband’s birthday (yes, the same exact day!) and our wedding anniversary are in the Fall.
